Digital information is not unlike written information, except that it exists in the form of little data bits that consist of "1s" and "0s."
Every character and many symbols that we use in our language can be represented "digitally" and transferred electronically over wires and cables and even through the air waves.
Those characters are developed or "written" in software programs like MS Word and others but are "saved" as digital files which can then be transferred to other media and output types.
Output or information is a very broad term and can take the form of a product delivered online through web sites, reports, newsletters, tutorials, ebooks, graphics, downloadable music, videos, the written word, software, scripts, greeting cards, and on and on.
Information can also be provided, not as a product, but as a service.
Services can also be delivered online through regular purchase, subscription, member only web sites, as mentoring, digital transfer of expertise and proprietary offerings or systems, databases, email, varied web and software applications, and on and on.
Information businesses that are created, developed, promoted, operated, and delivered over the Internet are "the perfect business," in my opinion, because the product or service purchased requires no employees, no stored inventory, no physical packaging, and no physical delivery and yet the customer can receive the product almost instantaneously and benefit immediately!
Until you really delve in to the benefits and advantages of doing business in this manner, it's difficult to imagine how "cool" and effective digital information businesses can be.
We'll look at the benefits of this strategy in the next post, but just understand that this is the real deal - a real business owned and operated by a solo business man or woman.
The work is real, the satisfaction of working in your own business is real, and the profits you can bank are real!
I know of no other business model that allows an owner/operator to totally control most every aspect of the business, enjoy doing it, and realize a very high profit margin on the products and services that are developed.
The Lone Wolf strategy will open new opportunities and horizons for the person willing to jump into the fray and learn the exciting methods and resources that this business utilizes.
Digital business is not a panacea. It takes hard work and persistent effort - just like any other business you might start.
But it offers so many advantages and benefits to both the business owner and his customers that have never before been an option.
Digital business rocks - give it a whirl today!
